It sounds like they were just looking for the smallest excuse to fire this server. Their manager had been passive-aggressive and condescending for months, and it was only a matter of time. This thread was posted to Reddit's r/TalesFromYourServer subreddit, and this is yet another example of a toxic manager making the work environment infinitely more difficult than it needs to be.
As for the Caesar salad in question, the server made an innocent mistake and forgot to ask for the dressing for the side. Not only was the manager absolutely rude about the mistake, but also they made the server pay for the salad. We've seen stories like this before, but this one only gets worse. When the server picked up said salad from the fridge at the end of their shift, they made a remark to themselves about how soggy it was. That, folks, was the final straw for Toxic Manager.
